Dr. Groves is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland Medical center. She completed her medical training at Vanderbilt University and neurosurgical residency and pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed additional fellowships in Spinal Oncology as well as a Pediatric Spinal Deformity fellowship at Shriner’s Hospital for Sick Children.
Dr. Groves is both an investigator and neurosurgical expert on congenital malformations throughout a lifetime. She is the neurosurgical director of fetal interventions at Johns Hopkins and follows these patients throughout adulthood. In addition she is an expert on skeletal dysplasia and its impact on overall spinal growth and development. She is currently investigating mechanisms for improved diagnosis of congenital spinal disorders and minimally invasive treatment techniques with focused ultrasound.
Dr. Groves is a member of the medical advisory board of the Little People of America, American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Scoliosis Research Society, American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
